What do babies actually need?
With all the baby products out there, it can be overwhelming to figure out what you really need for your little one! Here’s a handy list of essential items that will help you during those first few months of life.

Sleep
Three Sleep Essentials:
Crib – Of course, your baby needs a cozy and safe spot to sleep!
Crib Mattress – There are so many options out there! Just take some time to do your research.
Bedding – It’s important to choose mattress bedding for your baby that fits snugly and ensures they’re safe while they sleep.
Feeding
Feeding Must-Haves:
Bottles – If you’re exclusively breastfeeding, feel free to skip this part! But if not, you’ll definitely need some bottles.
Formula – Whether you’re using formula, breastfeeding, or pumping, the key is that your baby is happy and fed! If you run into any questions about formulas, feel free to ask your baby’s pediatrician for help.
Breast Pump – If exclusive breastfeeding isn’t the best fit for you but you still want your baby to enjoy breast milk, using a pump is a great alternative!

HYGIENE
Essential Hygiene Products:
Diapers and Wipes – There are so many brands out there at different price ranges, so take your time to find what’s just right for you.
Bathtub – There are so many tubs to choose from! If you decide to wait a bit before bathing your baby, that’s totally fine too. All that matters is that your little one is clean and happy.
Shampoo – Just be sure to pick a gentle and baby-safe shampoo. It’s totally okay to check out different options!
clothing and safety
Clothing and Safety Essentials:
Clothes – There are so many brands to choose from, but as long as your baby can move around freely, I say go for it! I recommend stretchy fabrics; they’re super comfy, especially if you have an active little one.
Swaddles and Sleep Sacks – In those first few months, babies can startle themselves awake, so a swaddle is definitely recommended! A sleep sack is also great for keeping your little one warm since it’s not safe for them to have a blanket while they snooze.
Car Seat – Any car seat is a great pick! Sure, some come with more features than others, but as long as it meets the safety requirements for your baby, it’ll do the job just fine.
